  4. One annual board meeting was conducted where board members were able to discuss key issues such as the need to develop a fundraising strategy, supervision of the management team, registration of YETA with URSB as YETA Peace and Disability Initiative, Appointment of new signatory to replace a deceased signatory and Management of institutional assets. Internet banking to support finance operations than frequent movements to banks. During the discussions, the board also identified recurring challenges such as; The logistics for mobility with the overwhelming organization staff numbers,
Institutional development support- most of the funding the organization is securing is directed to activity implementation- a donor mandate.
  5. Annual audit.Project has supported to secure a contractual agreement with an audit firm (EDIOMU and COMPANY) for annual audit.

Lessons learned and best practices emerging from this project.

Governance and programme support funding reduces the burden of multiple role playing, segregation of duties, support supervision and improves board functions such as board meetings. Previously, It was so had to facilitate board meetings due to lack of resources to bring them together, most of the existing project donors are hesitant to pay support staff like Executive Director, HR, Log & Procurement, MEAL and programmes Lead making such essential functions to be played by project implementers hence no segregation of duties and very minimal support supervision. With this funding, we were able to facilitate some of the positions especially Executive Director, MEAL and programmes Lead including board meetings.
