#BOOSTING SMART CLIMATE AGRICULTURE @CENET we are main streaming engagement of refugees and Hosting Communities in Rhino refugee settlement Uganda in SMART climate agriculture to support them ensure production of food a midst the prolong dry spell/ Drought. Refugees and Host farmers/ households are currently receiving trainings on modern Agriculture in promotion of Agro-forestation, kitchen gardening and vegetable growing. This interventions aims in increasing food production (food security)to supplement on the small ratio or support refugees recieved from World food program WFP. Therefore, we call upon partners to support our efforts in helping these vunerable communities.

#DISASTER AND RISK EMERGENCY CALL A refugee enterprenuer in Ocea trading center, Rhino Refugee settlement uganda call: Regina Aputu her Shop/ business place catches fire/ got burnt at night 3:00 am 17-july-2024 by unknown person living her in desperate state as all her business items got burnt to ashes. Regina Aputu sells second hand clothes, Bags and diversifies into Tailoring business and making CAPATII at the same time. As a single mother, refugee with children being subjected into these difficulties of losing all she had, is not an easy situation per now. @CENET Volunteer reaches her and provided MHPSS. Regina Aputu Narrated about how she rose the money to start the business. I borrowed money from our Village savings and loan association (VSLA) group, added the little I had and rented a shop within Ocea market. So Regina Aputu is Traumatized/ worried about how she will pay back the loans, Renovate the shop which got burnt, Even providing food for her children. Because what she was hoping/Relaying upon is No more. According to Regina Aputu, she Re-stocked her business items on 15-July-2024 two days before the incident happened. Hence the business inventory worthy= 2,000,000 uganda shillings. I am in need of help said Regina Aputu. At CENET, we are delighted to update you about the #RIGHT-2-PLAY ▶️ sports tournament phase two which will happen in August of Ocea zone, Rhino refugee settlement Uganda. These #multiple sports activities aims at Promotion of peaceful Co-existence among refugees and between Refugees and hosting Communities youths. Moreso, it aims at #TALENT identification among the Youths. Below ???? are the activities; 1. Football competition 2. Sok-sok game 3. Eating competition 4. Running competition 5. Skipping game Among others. These multiple activities are Inclusive; Disable youths, females, males. Under age children are all target participants. On 27/6/2023 Community Empowerment Network -cenet, we received Team from #Cohere who pay as a Courtesy visit at our office in Rhino refugee settlement. @Cohere is one of the partner who supports Refugee-led organizations (RLOs) so much through building capacity, creating visibility for RLO. As CENET through the #Webinars Cohere conducted has created improvements. Therefore, Once again, we thank #Team @COHERE Uganda for the visit and Refresher training on #Reframe platform. We looks forward for more engagement and partnerships.

SUCCESS STORY. Rachel mara is a youth, age=25 years old female from Lira district Uganda, who is a resident of Ocea A village, Ocea zone, Rhino refugee settlement Uganda. Rachel enrolled for technical training Community Empowerment Network -cenet for Liquid and Bar Soap production skills, coupled with Enterprenuership skills. Early April 2024. Rachel started learning how to make liquid and Bar soap. Hence, now she is more expert in production of liquid and bar soap. Not only that, she applied the Enterprenuership skills gained from the training. Today 23/5/2024 #Our Executive Director visited Rachel at her business place in "Ocea trading Market" where Rachel sits and sells her products of Liquid and Bar soap in the market. According to Rachel she sells 45000 Uganda shillings daily from the liquid and Bar soap products following the market demand of her products. Since she sells with affordable price to the Vulnerable refugees and hosting Communities in Ocea trading center. Rachel aims higher to scale-Up production of liquid and bar soap in Ocea due to readiness of market. In five months to come my plan is to produce these products in Bulk/ surplus said Rachel. These Technical skills are paramount for the #Youths Because it promotes creativity Self-reliance. Therefore, we call upon all Refugee and hosting Communities youths in Ocea zone and Rhino plus West Nile at large to grab these skills which are helpful. CLIMATE CHANGE PUT REFUGEES ON PANIC IN RHINO CAMP-UGANDA. A volunteer from CENET visited KIRADAKU village of Rhino refugee settlement. Mr Emmanuel Opiaka a refugee welfare council RWC1 said, they are in panic since their crops are drying off in their farms sites. and humanitarian reliefs are reduced with 70 percent of refugees eliminated from the dry food ratio log provided by WFP which was a hope restoration once drought experience in the previous years. therefore, as Refugee leader i strongly call upon humanitarian partners and stakeholders plus donors to reach us with some assistance. at CENET, we are raising more Advocacy on climate change and adaptation to ensure the refugees and hosting communities become agency of climate change to mitigate this challenging moment. Basically advocating for Agro-forestation. We call partners, donors and well-wishers to reach us in order to support these refugees and hosting population in Rhino refugee settlement Uganda.
