About Art for Hope

Art for Hope was founded in 2016 in Dzaleka Refugee Camp, born from a powerful vision to transform pain into purpose. Established by Donatien Fire Fundi, a survivor of trauma who personally experienced the healing power of yoga and the arts, the organization was created to provide refugees with a safe and compassionate space to heal, grow, and thrive. What began as small yoga sessions within the camp quickly evolved into a comprehensive community program addressing mental health, education, creative expression, and holistic wellness.

To heal, empower, and rebuild lives in Dzaleka Refugee Camp through accessible mental health, arts, education, and wellness.
We envision a world where every refugee has access to mental health support and opportunities for personal growth, enabling them to live with dignity, resilience, and hope.
