Girls Leadership and Education Empowerment Conference Comfort Centre for Child Advocacy, Response and Empowerment implemented an education-focused project aimed at strengthening leadership capacity and empowering young girls in 12 secondary schools across Benue State. The project brought together over 100 Head Girls/prefects from different secondary schools for a leadership conference designed to equip participants with knowledge, skills, and values needed for personal growth and effective leadership. The conference created a platform for participants to engage in discussions on leadership development, education as a tool for empowerment, self-confidence, life skills, decision-making, and the role of young women as agents of change within their schools and communities. Through interactive sessions, mentorship, and experience-sharing, participants were encouraged to recognize their potential and develop a stronger commitment to academic excellence and positive peer influence. The project sought to address gaps in leadership opportunities for girls while promoting education as a pathway to empowerment and community development. By engaging school leaders directly, Comfort Centre aimed to create a ripple effect where the Head Girls/prefects would transfer acquired knowledge and positive values to other students within their schools, thereby contributing to improved educational outcomes and strengthened student leadership structures across Benue State.
