Hope of refugee women against poverty for the social wellbeing (HOPDEV) led an agricultural project aimed at enhancing food security for refugee women in Dzaleka camp. The initiative focused on training participants in sustainable farming practices, including organic gardening and efficient irrigation techniques. We established communal gardens where women could cultivate Maize, Beans and including vegetables, promoting both nutrition and economic independence through the sale of excess produce. To support these efforts, we conducted workshops on food preservation and nutrition education, fostering a sense of community and shared knowledge. This project not only improved food availability but also empowered women, enhancing their confidence and resilience in challenging circumstances. By equipping them with essential skills, we aimed to create a sustainable model for food security that would thrive even beyond the project's duration.
