We implemented a psychosocial counseling project to support 119 women survivors of sexual abuse and torture resulting from the conflict in Sudan. The project provided trauma-informed individual and group counseling sessions in a safe and confidential environment. Services focused on emotional stabilization, coping skills, and restoring a sense of safety and self-worth. Many of the women were displaced and living with severe psychological distress. Counseling was delivered in culturally appropriate ways and in languages understood by participants. Through this support, women reported reduced emotional distress, improved coping, and a renewed sense of dignity and hope as they continued their healing journey.
