In Uvira, a care program supports 45 children orphaned by war, urban refugees, and street children, all facing extreme vulnerability. Funded by the COLIBRI ITALIA Association, the initiative offers integrated support including access to education, healthcare, and psychosocial assistance. Family and community reintegration activities are also conducted to ensure their long-term protection. Through educational guidance and tailored training, these children gradually regain hope and dignity. This project thus contributes to their empowerment and the building of a safer future by promoting their social inclusion and harmonious development.

In Uvira, AEJT-DRC, with financial support from GIZ through the QUALIPRO project, is continuing its work to promote the economic empowerment of displaced women and urban refugees. Following practical training in agricultural techniques and income-generating activities, beneficiaries received material support to strengthen their production activities. As part of this initiative, AEJT-DRC distributed agricultural kits containing sprayers, hoes, watering cans, rakes, and machetes, as well as improved seeds, to 100 displaced and urban refugee women. On January 10th, AEJT RD CONGO ASBL carried out a significant humanitarian action, distributing mattresses to 175 orphaned and displaced children, indirect victims of the M23 war in eastern DRC. These children, who lost their parents in the context of armed violence, come from various towns and villages in the provinces of South Kivu and North Kivu.

This assistance aims to improve their living and resting conditions, which are often very precarious in the reception centers. Through this act of solidarity, AEJT RD CONGO ASBL reaffirms its commitment to child protection, human dignity, and support for the most vulnerable populations affected by conflict. The organization is thus continuing its humanitarian mission by providing concrete responses to the urgent needs of children affected by the ongoing security crisis in the east of the country.
