About L'AFRIKANA ORG

L’AFRIKANA is a refugee-led Community-Based Organization registered in Kenya and Canada, established in 2013 to advance dignity, opportunity, and protection for refugees and vulnerable host communities. Guided by our Strategic Plan 2026–2029, L’AFRIKANA is repositioning as a stronger, more accountable, and impact-driven Refugee-Led Organization (RLO) capable of delivering measurable outcomes in education, livelihoods, protection, and community resilience. Building on our track record of implementing approximately 25 community projects, L’AFRIKANA currently prioritizes programs that directly respond to today’s humanitarian realities in Kenya—rising urban poverty, shrinking aid, increased protection risks, and limited access to quality education and psychosocial support. Our current core programs include: PEP (education scholarships and student support), skills development and livelihoods initiatives, protection and referral services for survivors of violence, Talk to Talk community engagement forums, and organizational strengthening through governance and systems development. These interventions are designed to ensure refugees are not passive recipients of aid but active actors in recovery, leadership, and local development. Under the 2026–2029 strategy, our vision remains clear: refugees fully integrated into host communities and contributing positively through their talents, resilience, and leadership. Our mission is to deliver solutions through education, training, advocacy, psychosocial and protection support, and community-based implementation models that are locally owned and sustainable. Since 2013, L’AFRIKANA has directly reached over 6,000 individuals, with an estimated 25,000 total beneficiaries through direct and indirect impact. Moving forward, we will strengthen this impact by scaling programs through community facilitators, strategic partnerships, stronger safeguarding, and improved monitoring systems. By supporting L’AFRIKANA, donors and founders achieve their objectives through a high-impact, cost-effective, and locally trusted delivery model that ensures: visible results, stronger community resilience, protection of the most vulnerable, and sustainable outcomes led by refugees themselves. Funding L’AFRIKANA is not only an investment in services—it is an investment in localization, accountability, and long-term transformation.

To empower refugees and local communities through sustainable development, vocational training, and advocacy for social justice, fostering unity, peace, and reconciliation among all.
To foster a united, peaceful, and self-reliant society where all individuals, regardless of their background, live in harmony and dignity, actively engage in, participate in, and contribute to the objectives of the Government and the United Nations regard
