Community participation in managing their community program contributed to our performance on programs related to children with disability and development delays.
We are very delighted to have shared and have better sharing with the community on their needs for better community transformation within Omugo zone.
The community within Omugo zone has final agreed to consider and put children with disability as part of the community, following the community awareness and stakeholders meeting held between RIAD and local leader, religious leaders, teachers and health workers. Many caregivers Identified their weak areas in care for children with disability and practical strategies to improve on them Policy to Practice Shift at Village Level, LC1 proposed to passes a village by-law or resolution: “No child with disability will be denied school or hidden at home, Active Referral & Protection System, Leaders know exactly where to report abuse/neglect - CDO, police , Child Protection Committee. Referral list is posted at the LC office.
Public Stigma Reduction Led by Leaders, LC or Pastor speaks against insults in the meeting regarding correcting each other: “Don’t call him ‘OBERE’. He is a child.

The team has final started the participants selection process under Regenerative agriculture for socio-economical impact (RASI Project) with support from COHERE, the process involved individual vulnerability assessment for community sustainability.
Thanks to the team for the clear road map in the implementation of the project.
The team under sustainable urban integration of displaced affected community (SUIDAC) carried out household Vulnerability Assessment for Individual farmers, Courtesy visit to Youth groups at Apprenticeship centers (Training centers). The Farmers visited and assessed were excited and welcomed the project warmly, while the Youths visited were excited and appreciated SUIDAC project. The youths visited are are seen to have gained allot of skills to be put in practice for Livelihoods.
As part of RIAD commitment to the implementation of sustainable urban integration of displacement affected communities SUIDAC , the reassessment for Women groups for financial inclusion is on going. Funded by European Union, implemented by Cities alliance and hosted by UNOPs
The learning visit to RIAD by COHERE was a moment of blessing to the community and we are hoping for more local owned learning visit among RLOs which the team is moving forward to impress and start as action point.

We are delighted to announce the shortlist of youth groups for the Skilling Programme under the SUIDAC Project (Sustainable Urban Integration of Displacement-Affected Communities)!
This important shortlisting activity took place at the Arua Engineering Office, together with our sister partners: CETRA, WIN Westline CARD, CDOs, and representatives from ACAV.
The SUIDAC project, supported by Cities Alliance and the European Union, continues to empower young people from refugee and host communities in Arua city with practical, market-driven skills for sustainable livelihoods, self-reliance, and inclusive urban development. 💪
We are proud to undertake this journey together with our valued partners as we build stronger, more resilient, and inclusive communities in Arua!
