WOPEDE is a women-led, refugee-founded community-based organization rooted in Kitengela and Kajiado. Our mission is to empower women through practical skills, emotional support, and resources that enable them to become self-reliant and agents of peace in their communities. We believe in the transformative power of women to build strong families, resilient households, and harmonious societies. Our vision is a world where women live with dignity, support their families effectively, and act as ambassadors of peace, breaking cycles of poverty and conflict through resilience and growth. WOPEDE’s work is guided by five key objectives: Empowerment: Equipping women with skills and confidence to achieve independence. Resilience: Helping women overcome adversity and trauma with strength. Collaboration: Partnering with communities, CBOs, and stakeholders for shared impact. Sustainability: Promoting long-term growth through livelihoods and income generation. Compassion: Creating safe, supportive spaces for healing and inclusion. Through skills training, livelihood support, MHPSS, and peacebuilding initiatives, WOPEDE positions women as leaders of change and drivers of stability. With deep community trust and strong partnerships, we are uniquely placed to deliver sustainable, inclusive, and impactful programs for refugee and host women.
