RAF implemented a Women Rights and Empowerment project aimed at promoting gender equality and strengthening the capacity of women and girls in Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement. The project reached over 500 participants through awareness sessions on women’s rights, gender roles, and prevention of gender-based violence. Women and girls were equipped with leadership, confidence-building, and public speaking skills, enabling them to actively participate in community decision-making. The project also included financial literacy and livelihood linkages to enhance economic independence. Additionally, men and boys were engaged as allies to challenge harmful norms. As a result, participants demonstrated improved confidence, awareness of rights, and increased participation in community leadership.
