About Unity Initiative for Refugees

Unity Intervention for Refugees (UIR) is a refugee-led Community organization founded on January 1, 2019 in Kakuma. It focuses on promoting social sustainability among refugee youth through initiatives in 1. Psycho-social support 2. Education 3. Livelihood 4. Life skill Training 5. Promoting Talents & Sustainability. UIR empowers marginalized and displaced individuals, especially youth, by promoting digital entrepreneurship and sustainable agriculture. Mission: To offer quality education to marginalized individuals, aiming to transform lives and reduce poverty. Vision: To equip marginalized people with competitive skills through high-quality training. Objectives: UIR aims to uplift young people—particularly those without parental support—by providing access to education and practical skills needed to find employment and build self-reliance. Specific objectives: 1. Psycho-social support 2. Education 3. Livelihood 4. Life skill Training Our Beneficiaries: • Children • Parents • Youths • Community and Religious Leaders • School Teachers
