In June 2023, the association implemented sustaining income generation through funding project. The beneficiaries were 30 Sudanese women refugee business owners with grant support of 500,000 thousand Ugandan shillings per person. To ensure the benefit from the grant, the beneficiaries were trained on financial literacy courses, which include: how to understand and manage an individual’s financial affairs, knowledge of the budget, how to make income, invest, banking services, credit management, taxes, and retirement age. As a result of the training on financial literacy, 80% of the women who received financial support now have stable businesses. In addition, the women were able to form five self-savings groups under the auspices of the association. Indeed, all of them have bank accounts for savings and licenses to practice commerce.
